Emma’s First Field Trip

Today Emma had her first field trip. Her nursery school (and from the look of it every other child under 4 in the bay area!) descended like locust to Joan’s Farm in Livermore. Emma had been anxiously awaiting today and couldn’t wait to get there and see her friends!

We started the field trip with the kids getting to feed the animals. Emma fed a goat (out of a little cup – she wouldn’t let the goat eat out of her hand!) and thought it was hilarious.

After a short educational presentation (this is a school day you know!) the kids were let loose in the pumpkin patch.

I really felt badly for the pumpkins as what seemed like millions of 3 year olds came in ready to lay their hands on as many pumpkins as possible! After picking up (and dropping from a great height) several pumpkins Emma finally settled on one she deemed as perfect.

After a bit more playing and having her picture taken atop various farm animal statues we headed home. She told me in the car on the way home what a great day she had and how much she loved her first field trip thus making it all worth it!

Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
