Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch

Last weekend we took a short drive to Sharkarosa, a small wildlife ranch that allows you to pet and feed a variety of animals.
Getting ready for our Safari Tram ride.

Emma made friends with some camels.
This camel was a little pushy with me!

We all enjoyed the little petting zoo - comprised mostly of goats, but it was enough for us!
Emma was brave enough to pet the ginormous snake that they brought out.  I stood safely off to the side!
We had a good time and hope to visit again!

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
- Psalm 121:1-2

The little things matter

This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Be still - God is always in control

Life can get crazy sometimes and it is so important to sit back, take a deep breath and be still.  God is and always will be in control.

Time for a date

My parents were here recently for a visit so Chris and I got to go out sans children a few times!  A rare, rare event for us and a much needed and appreciated treat.

My dad suggested that we take a Saturday and attend the Byron Nelson golf tournament that is held not far from here.  We had such a fun day out!

Look - two of my favorite things: Chris and really yummy vegan food!

The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him.

A visit with Nana and Papa

My parents a.k.a. Nana and Papa visited for three weeks.  Don't be fooled by the lack of pictures - we had such a wonderful visit with them and we were all so sorry to see them leave.

We don't always realize how much we miss our family and how much we have sacrificed by moving until family visits and then leaves.
Grace made us all pancakes one morning and she was very proud of herself.  I am trying to convince her to make this a daily event!

We went into Dallas and did the obligatory visit to the American Girl store.

We treasure the memories that we made and the quality time that the girls got to spend with two of their very favorite people.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Look who turned 6!

Emma - where do I start?!  Six years ago today you were born and completed our little family.
You are the calm in our storm and you bring joy wherever you go and to everyone that you meet.
You have brought such laughter and joy to our family and we treasure every day with you.
We pray that we guide you through life to be a bright beacon for our Lord and to continue to share your joy for life.  We love you to the moon and back sweet Emma Girl.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Happy 8th Birthday Grace

Eight years ago our world was rocked with the arrival of Grace.
Since becoming her parents she has taught us about love, sacrifice, patience, joy, and so much more.  We are happy and proud to be on this journey of parenthood with her and we pray daily that we are raising her in a way that pleases the Lord.
What a huge, awesome responsibility we have been entrusted with to watch over and guide her while on this Earthly journey.

We love you Gracie Girl right to the moon and back.

Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.
