Happy Easter!

The girls were so excited to get their Easter baskets before church!

The girls wore very special dresses today.  These dresses were worn by my two nieces in our wedding 14 years ago!

We were excited to have an egg hunt after church services - as you can see from Emma's face, she discovered some ants on her eggs!

When we came home from church the Easter bunny had visited our house and a frantic egg hunt ensued.  This year the bunny decided on no candy in the eggs, but money instead!

We pray that everyone had a wonderful Easter and remembered the real reason for the day!

Praise God - He Lives!

He is not here; He has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where He lay.
- Matthew 28:6

Play ball!

We took a day off from homeschool last week to attend a Texas Rangers game.  This was the first time either one of the girls had attended a MLB game.

Chris taught them both how to keep score (the old fashioned way with pen and paper!)  They loved it and it kept them both engaged in the play of the game.

They were both so excited even the cold, cloudy day didn't bother them!

On our way out we passed this stand where they sell 2 foot long hot dogs, 1 pound burgers and a sandwich the length of your arm!

One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.

Homeschool Update

We have had a great first year of homeschool so far.  We meet every Monday for Classical Conversations, where the girls have a half day of instructional classroom time.

The rest of the week is spent at home with me as their teacher!

Start children off on the way they should go,
and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Racing

This past weekend Chris entered a race that raises money for automated external defibrillator's.  He did amazing, placing 7th overall and 2nd in his age category.

The girls had fun climbing on trees while he ran.

At the finish!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us

Ice Skating . . . Again!

Since both girls seem to really enjoy ice skating we all went - again!

As tedious as it is for Chris and I to skate in circles for hours - they really love it and smile and laugh the
whole time making it all worthwhile!

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

Spring Festival

Each year our community holds a Fall and Spring Festival.  Emma had been looking forward to the Spring Festival for months and we had such high expectations for a fun morning!

Due to a face painting incident (Grace was devastated that Emma got a prettier face painting than she did - life altering issues!), the morning was cut short and many tears were shed!

We had fun while we were there and if nothing else, it was memorable!!

The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad.

- Psalm 118:24
