Cape Cod

Ahh, Cape Cod how I have missed you!

While in New York my parents took us to Cape Cod for a week.  The Cape has always had such a special place in my heart.  I spent every summer camping there throughout my childhood.  We hadn't taken the girls there in over five years and I was so excited to be able to show them this magical place.

One of the highlights of the week was taking the kids to Rock Harbor to enjoy all that the ocean shares with us during low tide.

There is something about the ocean that I find to be rejuvenating and magical and I could sit there all day every day and watch the waves roll in.  The girls loved playing in the waves and building sand castles.

Dad and I walked up the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown with the girls.  The monument commemorates the Pilgrims first landing in America in 1620.

Good-bye Cape Cod and ocean - we will miss you terribly until we meet again.  Thank you for another great vacation and for all of the memories.

Family time

The girls loved all of the time that they got to spend with their Pooler family while we visited New York.

One of their favorite things to do with Grandma and Grandpa is to be read to.  They never tire of it!

Since we were last home to visit three years ago the family has grown quite a bit with the addition of four new baby cousins!

Grace and Emma especially enjoyed playing cards with their grandpa and uncles.  They may have even won a few hands!

We love because He first loved us.

An apple a day

The girls hadn't been apple picking in over five years so I was so happy we were able to fit this into our New York trip.

In spite of some chilly, overcast weather we had a really good time.

Emma turned out to be a pro using the apple picker pole that my Gram-Z gave my dad when I was a kid. No apple was too big or too high  for Emma and her apple picking pole!

Grace was great at picking apples but had a really hard time eating them due to her lack of teeth!

We had a really fun time picking apples and hope to get back again soon!

Papa and his fishing buddies

My dad loves to fish and loves to take his grandchildren fishing when they visit. The girls love fishing - although I don't know if what they do counts!  They don't like to touch the fish, sometimes won't touch the worms and don't know how to cast their lines!

The girls were pros - Emma caught 10 and Grace caught 4.  Fish now tremble at the sound of their names!

Needless to say, Papa got a real workout taking these two princesses fishing!

The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground.
